About Me

My name is Rose. I was born in November 1978. I live in Ontario, Canada with my two children (my son Logan and a furry four-legged cat named Alli).
I am a stay-at-home mom, and love my 'job'. I wouldn't trade the time I get to spend raising my son for anything in the world! I have been on disability for a few years now due to severe fibromyalgia, although I was diagnosed with it about two decades ago. For the most part I have learned to live around the pain, but I am only human, and sometimes it gets the best of me.

I received a diploma for Desktop Publishing & Design in 2001, my certification for Microsoft Office 2013 in 2014, completed a diploma in Accounting & Payroll Administration with honors in 2014, and after a long fight with my health achieved my Graphic Design diploma with president status. I plan to start my own business from home that will enable me to offer various desktop publishing services such as business cards, brochures, menus, forms and such; logo design; graphic design; and web design.

My passions (other than my son) is designing (also my biggest hobby) and writing. With the exception of the odd thing, everything you see on this site are my designs. I have designed just about anything you can think of including many different business cards, invitations (not only for every birthday party my son has had, but also the invitations for three different weddings), brouchers/flyers/menus, web designs and even a couple logos. It is my outlet when the pain is bad or a flare up happens. I gravitate to the computer and work on one design or another. I always have a project on the go.

It had been awhile since I had done any writing until recently. It was my outlet growing up. My mom used to always tell me I could write better than I could speak. She was my biggest encourager of my writing. She knew and understood how therapeutic it was for my through my teenage years especially. Now I am giving a shot at chasing a dream of being a published author. I know there is a poetry book out there somewhere that has one of my poems in it, but I wasn't able to buy it at the time. Since I was a teenager I wanted to write the book I plan to publish first as a self-publisher. It has felt not only very natural but very good to be writing again. You can find some of my work here on my Poetry Stop page.

An old hobby that I used to be really into is computers. Since my first of many computer classes in high school you could say I was addicted to computers for a very long time. Software is my strongest suit although I am very knowledgeable on computer hardware. One of my computer teachers once told me that it's like I think like the computer. His explanation as to why I was always able to 'manipulate' the computer to get it to do what I needed it to do. I used to get called out of other classes to help the computer teacher with a problem. My focus has drifted from computers in this way, but I'm still the go to person to fix friends and family's computers.

Some of my other hobbies and interests include Music; Movies; Baking (pies are my specialty); Gaming (PS4, Android and Boardgames) and doing Puzzles; and just hanging out with my son. When the Fibro allows me to in the summer I love to roller skate, and love Dancing (something I have only begun to do again, nothing is more freeing to me than being able to just get lost in the music - when I'm alone. I get too shy to all out dance in front of other people).
