Couchbound

I lay here alone day after day
Wishing someone’s around to hear what I say

Trying to do the best that I can
As hard as it is being just one man

The struggle to get up is something I dread
Somebody just get me some needle and thread

Anything to take my mind off this pain
The throbbing and aching makes me forget my own name

When the pain for a bit finally dies down
I’d do anything just to get up and walk around

But this is the way it has to be for now
For my foot to heal I must stay foot up and couchbound.
